How Dior menswear builds a long, narrow outline

What is worth noting in these Dior menswear looks is not simply narrow clothing. The shoulders, trouser hems and shoes follow the same vertical direction. The opening look combines close-fitting sleeveless layers with narrow straight jeans. The next two extend the trouser legs to the shoes, while changes of colour above do not keep interrupting the lower half.

01紫色与粉色无袖上装纵向叠穿，浅蓝窄直牛仔裤接到带纹理的短靴。Purple and pink sleeveless tops layer vertically above pale-blue narrow straight jeans, which meet textured ankle boots.

单看后面的单品更容易理解这种比例。蓝色外套的肩部收得干净，背带裤从胸前到裤腿保留连续的竖向分割，黑白上衣则用不对称叠层把视线往下带。修长感来自四个具体动作：肩线不外扩，叠层沿纵向落下，裤长尽量靠近鞋面，鞋型不过分横向放大。

The individual garments make this proportion easier to understand. A blue jacket has a clean, narrow shoulder. Overalls maintain continuous divisions from the chest to the legs. A black-and-white top uses asymmetric layers to lead the eye downward. The elongated result comes from four specific choices: shoulders that do not extend outward, layers falling vertically, trousers reaching close to the shoes, and footwear that does not spread too widely across the foot.

日常参考时不必把上装、裤子都换成紧身。先保留一条清楚的纵线，再决定哪里放松：上装有层次，裤腿就减少堆积；裤子偏长，鞋面就尽量利落。这样比单独强调高腰更能控制整套的长度关系。

For everyday reference, both top and trousers need not become tight. Keep a clear vertical line first, then decide where to relax the fit. With layered tops, reduce bunching in the trouser legs; with longer trousers, keep the shoe shape neat. This gives more control over the complete length relationship than emphasising a high waist alone.

07照镜子只检查肩线、纵向叠层和裤脚与鞋头，三点连成纵线后再定松紧。Check card: examine the shoulder line, vertical layers and the meeting of trouser hem and shoe toe. Once those points connect, decide where the fit can relax.
